Overview

RUG Tools, LLC's RUG-III Analyzer is PC-based software which can give your MDS coordinator invaluable information about your facility's assessment process. RUG-III Analyzer works with any software which creates MDS 2.0 submission files.

RUG-III Analyzer works with the 5.12 34-grouper, 5.12 44-grouper and the 5.01 44-grouper , either hierarchical or index-maximizing. The CMI values for each RUG-III group are customized to match your state's Medicaid Case Mix reimbursement program. Where applicable, the specific state option supports states' customizations to their case mix systems, such as Mississippi's Section S and Maine's Traumatic Brain Injury Extensive Services Qualification.

It also works with the Medicare 53-Group PPS Grouper, for both Urban and Rural facilities.

RUG-III Analyzer “reads” an MDS 2.0 submission files and reports the following for each assessment in the batch:

• The calculated RUG-III score.
• The MDS 2.0 elements which caused the assessment to generate the specific RUG-III score.
• Possible scenarios where different answers on an assessment might have generated a higher CMI index value.
• RUG-III Analyzer Version 1.31 is the latest version. It was released March 15, 2007.
