RUG-III Analyzer Overview

Installation Guide

The software requires Windows 98 2nd Edition, Windows 2000, NT or XP. The computer must have Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher installed. The computer must have a minimum free disk space at installation of 100 MB and a minimum free disk space at run time of 50 MB. The computer must have a minimum of 64 MB of RAM available at installation and at run time.

Before installing RUG-III Analyzer, you must uninstall any versions of the software you currently have installed.

Installation from CD

Insert the CD into its drive. The installation process should begin automatically. If it does not, then hit the Start button, then the Run … option and then open up the CD drive containing the CD and select the file R3Asetup.exe. Then hit the OK button.

Installation from a File Download

If you’ve downloaded the installation package from our web site, you can either run the file from the web site or save it. If you choose to save it, note the pathname where you saved it. Then use Windows Explorer to double click on the file you downloaded or run it using the Run … option from the Windows Start button.

Completing Installation

The only step for your installation to be successful is accepting the license agreement. Afterwards, press Next. You will then see a message saying installation is complete.

The program is installed by default in C:\Program Files\RUG Tools\RUG-III Analyzer 1.3x\. You may choose to install it in a different location. A child folder of your installation folder called "Output" is created when the program is first executed. It contains copies of the MDS files you’ve processed and the resulting MDS Submission File Reports.

Launching the Program

The installation program created a shortcut on your desktop and a folder and shortcut in your startup menu. To launch the program through the startup menu, click on Start, then All Programs, then RUG Tools LLC and then RUG-III Analyzer.

When the program is used for the first time on a computer, you will be prompted to enter your license key. Your program will not work if you do not enter the proper license key for your facility. Uninstalling

To uninstall the program, click on Start, then All Programs, then RUG Tools LLC, then RUG-III Analyzer and then Uninstall.
